One of the many non documented critical elements of the Viking mission was levity. Because the hours worked were not only long, but often include 24 hour shifts, and there were frequent trips away from family and friends, Viking Team Members formed a "family" of their own, just to make it through some of the tough mission periods. This meant a lot of congenial ribbing and inter office memos and cartoons that illustrated various parts of the mission, and the milestones, challenges, and overall culture that became a part of the mission. There were a few songs written by Viking Team Members to commemorate various elements. This song was written by one of the Interns working during Mission Operations, one of the infamous phases known for its rigor, its stresses, and its resulting revelry.
