Village in France (法国乡村) is a typical work of Li’s 1930s style. During that period, Li had returned from Hangzhou and in France, he drew this sketchy painting with influence of French Impressionism, precisely depicted constantly changing light and shadows between the cloudy sky and vast green land. In the picture, the trees and buildings are in picturesque disorder, creating different levels of space, and also, the picture brings the feeling of moist and fresh air after rain in the French village.
