Photograph of a section of a vineyard in the village of Póvoa. It is a patch made up of different plots of vineyard built according to the traditional systems. The set is framed by terraced vegetable gardens and modern vineyards. The main plot rises next to a tributary of the Ribeira das Canadas, whose margins are walled. The vineyard, bordered by olive trees, is in pre-phylloxera terraces with only one row of vines per terrace and low walls connected by traditional cantilever stairs. A particularity of this set is that the walls extend above the level of the ground.
The other plot, on the way to Vilarinho de Cotas, next to the Roncão slopes, is made of post-phylloxera vines and preserves in the vicinity a shelter dated 1862. After the renovations of the vineyard only 6 walls remained, over 2 meters high.
