In 1767, the property belonged to José Pinto de Meirelles, Knight of the Order of Christ, and his wife, Francisca Clara. In the 19th century, the owner was Joaquim de Azevedo Sousa Vieira da Silva e Albuquerque, Professor at the Polytechnic Academy of Porto, and paternal great-grandson of Captain José Pinto de Meireles and Francisca Clara. The manor-house was inhabited by this family for several generations.
