Granites from nearby quarries were mainly used in the construction of these residential buildings: blue granite, harder, for ordinary masonry, and yellow granite, easier to work, for masonry work, such as door and window frames, balconies, pilasters, friezes, epistyles and other decorative elements. The balconies, on the first floor, rest on volute-shaped granite corbels that, owing to their erudite nature, ennoble these architectures.
