On 30 May the French Minister of Industrial Development and Science, M. Francois-Xavier Ortoli, visited CERN. He is seen in photo 467 (left) examining samples of the superconducting magnet coil used in the construction of the 3.7 m bubble chamber, BEBC. This large chamber has been built as a collaboration between CERN, Federal Republic of Germany and France.
