Visit to the Ideal Palace

The sculptor Valentine Schlegel and Ulysse are immortalized here at the Ideal Palace by Agnès Varda, who came several times to admire the postman's work over the course of her life. Known as a great letter writer and collector of beautiful postage stamps, she showed real devotion to everything related to the post office. She even developed a friendship with her own postman, Jacky Patin. This connection with Postman Cheval's profession was showcased at the Ideal Palace in 2020 at the temporary exhibition titled Agnès Varda Correspondances.
