After serving at the creative helm of Maison Rochas for three years, Brussels-born designer Olivier Theyskens became the artistic director of Nina Ricci in 2007, where he presented five collections. At Nina Ricci, Theyskens cleverly reinterpreted the codes of the house, such as iconic tailored suits and romantic dresses, reinventing them as contemporary revisions of old classics. This dress shows a signature shape for summer 2009: a shorter hemline at the front that dramatically lengthens at the back, featuring a high collar and leg-of-mutton sleeves.
