Waiting

"Waiting" shows a woman who is waiting patiently for something, holding a sunflower. The face of the woman is calm, radiating patience, and hope. Zhelyazkova dedicated this art work to the process of waiting. As she has worked over the years, she has found that we are all waiting on something. Something to happen, something to start and or end, something to arrive. The painting represents an imaginary scene and image with which the artist strives to capture the very intimate process of waiting.

She uses color, form, light, and subject to hint that waiting serves an important purpose: revealing our readiness, obedience, and our trust. While we are waiting, we must water, nourish, and cultivate our precious seeds with love and acknowledgement.
