Wales beat New Zealand by 3-0 on 16th December 1905. It was the New Zealanders first and only loss on an otherwise triumphant tour to Europe. The Welsh victory remains one of the most famous in History. The occasion was marked by the Union commissioning the manufacture of 15 gold medals which were presented to the members of the Wales team. This medal was presented to Swansea forward Will Joseph.
