Richard Hunt is an acclaimed and prolific sculptor best known for his commissioned public sculptures found in numerous American cities. His work embodies classical ideals and traditions in a unique style of abstraction that combines both industrial and organic elements. While best known for his freestanding sculptures, Hunt also created three-dimension steel wall pieces throughout his career. Wall Piece with Hanging Form depicts an abstracted bulbous bundle of knuckle-like forms. Hanging from the compacted mass are sinuous metal pieces that, given Hunt?s propensity for themes of endurance and strength, can be interpreted as a manacle that has been broken open.
