This map of the Southern States was found in Lincoln assassination conspirator George Atzerodt’s room at the Kirkwood Hotel, where he had planned to murder Vice President Andrew Johnson. He did not follow through. The map is labeled Exhibit No. 12—the number it was given for the military commission trial of Atzerodt and other conspirators.
