Warmth in Winter

This artwork is based on an old village the artisan ran across during his trip to the Taihang Mountains in a winter. This village, full of ancient constructions typical of the Taihang style, is hardly accessible to outsiders due to its remote location. Only the elderly are left in the village as the young people are reluctant to return once they’ve gone outside. While being amazed by the beauty of these ancient buildings, the artisan couldn’t help but regretting that they were becoming obsolete. But to the delight of the artisan, he saw a tarmac road leading to the village under construction, feeling some warmth in the freezing winter.
