DHL Water Strider is an autonomous hydrofoil electric-powered watercraft de-signed for urban waterways and coastal logistics. The Water Strider was the 2015 winner of the inaugural 2015 DHL Blue Sky Transport Design Award, which aimed to foster innovative future solutions for the logistics industry. The Water Strider solution derives from the fact that the majority of the world’s major cities are accessed through waterways. This inspired the designers to create a model for autonomous delivery boats to take advantage of the existing infrastructure, which are rivers and oceans.
