Printers would call this a "cut," from the early days of printing when images were cut from wood. This one is a photoengraving that was made through photo and chemical processing of a zinc plate that is mounted on wood. Photoengravings allow for artwork and type to be combined into a single printing plate. On display at the Print Shop at History Park.
