South Australia's tour to Perth in April 1899 was the first time an intercolonial team visited Perth. The match against Western Australia played 3-6 April 1899 was the 2nd intercolonial match played but signifcantly Western Australia's inaugural first-class match on home soil. South Australia won the match by 4 wickets.
