A westslope cutthroat trout swims toward an underwater camera in Rainbow Lake, Banff National Park. The greyish-green fish is shown in three-quarter profile, its face with partially opened mouth closest to the viewer. It has red blush marks in areas along its white underside and gills, and has small dark spots dappled across the upper body. Occupying the central area of the image, the fish hovers inches above a grey rocky lake bottom amidst turquoise blue water that fills the picture’s upper half.
