About the Work: This work is composed of a set of ten prints of depicting geographical maps of different countries affected by political conflict. The ten prints are accompanied by a booklet that includes a historical timeline on each map, which poses the question: “How far should one go in remembering the past in order to heal the present?” The set consists of maps of Colombia, Cuba, Iraq, North and South Korea, Myanmar, Palestine, Sudan, Tibet (China), Zimbabwe and “United Latin America.” The latter represents a utopian configuration of the maps of Mexico, Central and South America and a commentary on the wish for political and cultural unity in Latin America.
