Wangye Museum

Wangye Museum
Shenzhen, China

In the Song dynasty, it was common to put flowers in bottles and vases in order to make an offering to Buddha. In the homes of literary families, flower arranging was a common practice. This white bottle has a long neck, a flared mouth, a globular midsection, and a round foot. A white slip is applied to the bottle to make it smoother and more beautiful.
