‘2 moles of fear + 25 moles of vulnerability’ is a collection of photographs depicting my journey
through depression and anxiety.
It speaks about my authentic journey, far from the ‘strong woman’ and ‘weak helpless creature’ tropes. The exposition is a small simulation of what it is like to navigate life while going through
major hormonal imbalances that influence my perception and response to stimulus around me.
The title is inspired by the chemical reaction that takes place inside our brains when hormones
like endorphins and serotonin attach to their respective receptors. As someone with a Generalized
Anxiety Disorder, these reactions don’t take place spontaneously and are externally induced most
of the time. ‘2 moles of fear + 25 moles of vulnerability’ is a visual art-piece collection that
depicts with genuineness and authenticity my journey navigating through mental health
challenges. It represents the raw and the real experience of experiencing anxiety on a daily basis
through the lens of my camera. ‘2 moles of fear + 25 moles of vulnerability’ is a set of emotions,
feelings, interactions, reactions, and palm trees capturing on camera and printed on canvas.
