William Barclay Squire

William Barclay Squire (1855–1927) was a British musicologist, librarian and librettist. His first musical writings were as a contributor to the first edition of Grove’s Dictionary, and in 1885, Squire began working at the British Museum, where he prepared the first catalogue of printed music.
