Willibald Pirckheimer (1470─1530) described Caritas as ‘half of my soul’. As the biological sister of the great humanist and councillor in Nuremberg, she was held in high esteem. Despite differences of opinion regarding the new doctrine, Willibald helped the hard-pressed Nuremberg Poor Clares to maintain their monastery.
