The first Western Australian Women's Cricket Association State team to tour visited Adelaide in December 1936. The team travelled by train under the captaincy of Olive Davis and though the team did not win a match in Adelaide the trip a valuable experience for the players, as the slow bowlers such as Ruth Longley were given some coaching by Clarrie Grimmet who was in Adelaide at the time.
