Wooden model of Brera Astronomical Observatory, faithful to the original architectural design of the Jesuit father, mathematician and astronomer Ruggero Giuseppe Boscovich (1711-1787). It is neither signed nor dated but is almost certainly the model that Boscovich himself had made at the time. As well as illustrating the project, it was also intended to aid and guide the builders. In fact, the joints between the various parts are made so that the model can be dismantled in order to look at the inside.
