A knitted woolen 'oorlam', a somewhat beehive-shaped cap measuring 23 cm wide and 25 cm high, worn by a 18th-century whaler.
It was found in the graves of the Dutch whalers in 'Wagepat', Gravepoint (North West Spitsbergen). The lower part of the cap could be pulled down over the ears.
