The series “Lo que habito” started during the confinement period imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Virtuality as the only possibility of being. The body as the trace of a presence. To be only through and in relation to the other. What is left of the body when its presence is no longer required? What is its essence? How can we survive to our own body?
I yearned for the reencounter with whom I learned to be, to recognize myself in who I am today, but the past is just debris. I yearned for a reencounter with the desire to be, to recognize it in me today, but all that is debris. The rough skin; strange. The need to redefine and re-know oneself appears. Everything seems trivial, and even so, I want to be part, to breathe effortlessly, to belong. Yearning is the engine of action, the performatic body. Can we live without yearning? Can you see me? Still in the dark. Can you hear me? Even among whispers. Can you feel me? Even without skin. Am I possible?
