Already Prince Franz had himself and his guests transported in gondolas over the Wörlitz Lake, but the trips started and ended at the lakeside between Eichenkranz and Friederikenbrücke. Only since the end of the Second World War, the gondola station is located at today's place, at the Neuer Wall.
