An extract from 'Y Frythones', a monthly Welsh language periodical for women. The periodical features stories, poems, and music, and focuses on issues concerning the home and family, temperance, religion, and the education and rights of women. It also became a platform for famed female contemporaries, and a space of other aspiring women writers. The periodical was edited by the notable, Sarah Jane Rees (Cranogwen, 1839-1916).
