This painting depicts the hills of Yanjirlpirri (star), an important sacred site near Yuendumu where young boys are brought for initiation. In the night sky above the site are the seven Napaljarri sisters, now a cluster of seven stars within the constellation Taurus. In the Dreaming, a Jakamarra man fell in love with the sisters and chased them. To escape the man (who was forbidden to marry them under the kinship laws), the sisters turned themselves into fire and ascended into the night sky.
