Yodae is a wide military belt that was used over jeonbok (sleeveless military overcoat) 戰服 of gunbok (a type of military uniform). The cavalry as well as military officers and officials on horseback wore yodae under jeondae (military band) to protect abdomen. Yodae was sometimes used over cheolik (military robe with pleated skirt) of yungbok (a type of military uniform). On the outside used black silk 漳緞 with a round pattern of dragon and treasure. The inside was wrapped with blue cotton over thick padding cloth. Two indigo blue strings are attached to each end to tie under the wearer's right armpit.
