What is more exciting for an artist than to have young people studying and enjoying art and visiting museums and art galleries? On one museum visit, Eileen noticed a number of visitors, many of them young, becoming acquainted with “masterpieces.” For her composition, she concentrated on a young mother and child with an exhibition brochure/article. Look closely at the background “masterpiece” Eileen chose. It appears to be The Millinery Shop by French Impressionist Edgar Degas, who was inspired in this subject matter by his friend, American Impressionist Mary Cassatt, a connoisseur of fashion. All of the above inspired Eileen.
