This ring has a transparent prismatic glass insert. The rim and sides of the shield are decorated with an engraved ornament.
Glass or crystal inserts in jewelry were widely used in the Golden Horde period. They often had a prismatic shape. Sometimes under such inserts there was a pad of colored filler, which gave the transparent inserts color.
A ring with a sub-rectangular shield is decorated with engraving and niello. The niello frame in the center of the shield contains an image that is no longer legible. In the corners of the frame there are S-shaped curls derived from the image of a vine.
The ring is significantly worn, which indicates its long-term use.
