Nigeria experiences rain for 6 months in the year. Water levels have risen by 150% in the Niger Delta in the last couple of years. Floods in the area has displaced over 3million people. Hippo addresses the perils of flash floods. It continues the tradition of people wearing ponchos against the rain and incorporates a floatation device so that when one is caught in a flash flood, one’s survival rate is tremendously increased. In its pocket is a reflective blanket to prevent hypothermia.
