The pieces created by Bettina Speckner can be regarded as poetry transmuted into jewellery. She creates her landscape images by etching her photographed, serene views of nature or unspectacular details of architecture into zinc plates or has them fired on enamel. She collects, captures moments as if they were silent witnesses, whose meaning and context, however, remain obscure. They have something casual about them, yet they are charged with associations. This jewellery artist seeks the mysterious in the banality of the quotidian.
