Keep the Peace (保卫和平) is an ink painting drew by Zhou Changgu in 1960s, which belongs to his typical style. Zhou is one of the five major artists of Zhe School Figure Paintings. The seemingly simple composition shows great originality. The sleeping baby is painted next to several guns, and this oddly arrangement just reflects the theme. There are bright colors appearing in the cradle, which means hope and inspiration, in contrast with large scale of cold tones in the background which bringing retrospection.
