This Landscape (山水) represents the late style of Lu Yanshao’s art. He chose to draw the outline of the clouds, and used white space, chunks of ink colors in this work, the techniques of which rarely appeared in other Chinese ink paintings. All the features marked the changes of his style, the brushwork being the key. His own style could be found on each stroke, which is full of rhythm and charm. His late works are mainly focusing on overall effect rather than details, so the strokes became more simple and prominent.
