Eleven year old Albert Raizner of the Bronx is getting a look at king-sized engineering (left) as the result of the "coffee can" radio he struggled to build. Unable to rest until the radio worked, Albert got help from the General Electric's big General Engineering Laboratory here. Then, because Albert seemed to symbolize the national need for more scientist and engineers, the laboratory invited Albert to Schenectady for a first hand look at the problem. This big but precision built turbine casing is one of the many wonders Albert was shown to illustrate why the nation needs twice as many science-minded youngsters.
