The city of Sanlúcar de Barrameda sits on the left bank of the greatest Andalusian river, the Guadalquivir, opposite Europe's foremost nature reserve, the Doñana National Park (Parque Nacional de Doñana). The city is located not only in a spot of extraordinary beauty, but also in a prime location for its involvement in major historical events.
