The Center for American Studies is one of the most prestigious institutes of US studies in Europe. Since its origins, the Center has pursued the goal of promoting relations between Italy and the United States and the dialogue between Italian and American culture. To this end, initiatives are organized for both specialists and a more general public, often in collaboration with other relevant Italian and US institutions. Over the years a rich activity of seminars, conferences, lectures by qualified Italian and American speakers on the most current issues of international politics and economics, meetings with exponents of the literary, journalistic, artistic and cinematographic world has been held and continues to take place. The Library, whose original nucleus dates back to the period immediately following the First World War, offers its members an extensive bibliographic heritage and an ever-increasing number of electronic resources, which concern the multiple aspects of American history and culture and the international relations of United States.
