International Information and Networking Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region under the auspices of UNESCO (ICHCAP)

Intangible heritage is a valuable asset to all humanity as it constitutes the footprints of where we came from, and presents values to guide our future.
ICHCAP is Korea's first UNESCO Category 2 Centre in the cultural field, established to safeguard and promote intangible cultural heritage together with the forty-eight UNESCO Member States in the Asia-Pacific region. ICHCAP contributes to safeguarding the diverse Asia-Pacific traditional heritage while facilitating communication in the international community through intangible cultural heritage.
Through its central functions of information and networking, ICHCAP collects and shares information to enhance the understanding and awareness of intangible heritage and supports safeguarding activities within the Asia-Pacific region by building cooperative networks.
ICHCAP works with passion to build a mechanism for effectively sharing information on intangible heritage; raise the visibility of intangible heritage through regional information use; strengthen networks among communities;. NGOs, civil society, and related organizations, and build networks between individuals and institutions to share information and knowledge.
