The Araribá Botanical Garden - JBA, is located in the city of Amparo, state of São Paulo - BR, about 120 kilometers from São Paulo, the state capital and 50 kilometers from the city of Campinas.
The JBA is located in an area of 30 hectares within "Sítio Duas Cachoeiras", which also holds a Natural Heritage Reserve - "RPPN Duas Cachoeiras" a seasonal semideciduous forest within the Atlantic Forest. It's also surrounded by areas of food cultivation in agroforestry and agroecological systems.
JBA works also as a Research and Environmental Education Center, with the project "Education and Agriculture - since 1985", receiving children and adults from all over the region.It develops research with partnerships between universities and technical institutes from various regions of Brazil.
It has also integrated in its iniciatives, artistic activities of music, dance and poetry to spread the knowledge it has generated through local researches.
