Anjou Vine and Wine Museum

Anjou Vine and Wine Museum
Val-du-Layon, France

The Anjou Vine and Wine Museum is located in the heart of the Anjou vineyard in an old cellar. It was created in 1978 with the aim of promoting wine-growing know-how and practices.
In all, nearly 10,000 tools, objects and documents make up the collections, showcasing the history of the Anjou-Saumur vineyard and its evolution since the 19th century.
Among them, the vinothèque presents an atypical and unique collection in France: full bottles of wine, the oldest of which dates from 1887! The museum is also a collection of 17 different grape varieties, cultivated in a grape variety conservatory of half a hectare.
