The Casa Botines Gaudí Museum is the main museum project of FUNDOS. As a 21st-century museum in close contact with its surrounding community, it serves as a center for research, conservation, and exhibition of its historical-artistic heritage. Its goal is to create a platform that allows citizens to enjoy and understand their history and culture.
The Museum safeguards an important part of the FUNDOS collection, comprising Fine Arts and Decorative Arts that span 500 years of Art History on the Iberian Peninsula, from the late 15th century to the late 20th century. The fact that this collection is housed in a historic building, designed by one of our most renowned architects, Antonio Gaudí—who himself merits a dedicated museum space—has shaped the Museum's three main thematic pillars, which underpin its initiatives in research, exhibition, outreach, and education: the building, its architect (Gaudí), and its collections.
