Museo del Objeto del Objeto, MODO, opened in October 2010 in Mexico City, offers temporary exhibitions, through which we seek to promote enjoyment, dialogue and reflection on our Archive.
We are interested in presenting, through objects, a historical review of Mexico since the early 19th century: its society, cultural movements, tendencies, ways of thinking and contact with different countries. In this way, in MODO we are interested in reviewing what we are, how we live, what we remember and how we process everything in social, historical and communication terms.
We have an archive of more than 100 thousand objects dating from the early 19th century to date, which are inventoried, photographed and digitally cataloged. This Archive has important collections of historical documents, photography, political propaganda and funerary objects, as well as wonderful examples of packaging design, advertising and graphic arts. Representing Mexican material culture at large.
The MODO is linked to a young community, of culture lovers committed to its city, and its exhibitions, promote knowledge of its heritage and the appreciation of the graphic arts, communication, design and history, as well as as a sense of responsible community.
