The Berlin Museum of Musical Instruments collects and presents musical instruments of European art music from the 16th to the 21st century. The collection of the Museum of Musical Instruments includes around 3,600 instruments, many of which have been preserved in playable condition. Around 800 of these instruments are on display in the permanent exhibition.
