Our History:
The National Library and Archives of the United Arab Emirates, an affiliate of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, was established in 1968. It is one of the oldest archival repositories in the Arabian Gulf region and is home to millions of records about the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Arabian Peninsula.
Our mission:
Preserving the documentary heritage to provide decision makers and public with trusted information and to enhance civic spirit and national identity. The National Archives collects, documents, translates and preserves primary and secondary source materials that foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the history of both the UAE and the Arabian Gulf.
