Nawaya has the vision to build an active network of community-based organisations that preserve and promote Egyptian heritage food systems.
Our mission is to create seasonal tour programs that are viable for the tourism sector and generate income for small scale farming families.
We do this through:
Community outreach activities for improved nutrition through heritage foods
Training for community- led food activities such as planting, harvesting, processing, catering & sale of heritage foods
Developing stories to promote Egyptian food heritage to wider audiences
Bridging the tourism sector to partner with community-based organisations in heritage food tours
