The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) is home to one of the world's leading architecture collections. The RIBA Collections feature over four million items spanning the history of architecture from the 15th century to the present day. Among them are rare illustrated texts, original drawings, architectural models, archive material and photographs, offering global scope and rich historical detail.
The RIBA collections are free to access and open to all. There are two main locations based in London, which allow visitors opportunity to discover and explore the treasures of the collection. There is also a digital catalogue and image library which people can use to explore the archive and purchase images from the collection. RIBA has a dynamic programme of exhibitions and events that engage and bring the collection to life. These installations and events invite the public to interact with architectural history within a contemporary framework.
The RIBA is a global professional membership body driving excellence in architecture, with more than 47,000 members worldwide. RIBA champions better buildings and places, stronger communities and a sustainable environment. Being inclusive, ethical, environmentally aware and collaborative underpins all that we do, providing the standards, training, support and recognition that put our members both in the UK and overseas, at the peak of their profession.
RIBA International offers support for members based or wanting to work overseas, with four global regions - Americas, Europe, Middle East & Africa, and Asia & Australasia - and six established International Chapters serving local communities of architects across the world and hosting regular events and activities.
