Individuality is the expression of a face, its particular mood, the way in which the face stands before something, both literally and metaphorically.

The individual’s face in a portrait is more than just a physical likeness; it is a reflection of that person’s inner world, their emotions, and their place in society. In this exhibition, portraits are not static representations; they are dynamic expressions of identity. The artists have skillfully captured fleeting emotions, moods, and the subtleties of human expression, creating works that invite the viewer into the soul of the subject.

The faces on display invite us to question the nature of self-identity—what it means to be an individual in a broader social context—and how that identity is expressed in the artist's interpretation.

From the oldest in age, Alecos Levidis (1944), to the youngest, Louisa Missiou (1981) the figures presented in the exhibition, sometimes everyday and sometimes symbolic, become bearers of messages for both the painter and Greek society.
