During a hunt, Acteon sees the goddess Diana in the fountain.

The goddess is angry because she was seen naked by a mortal, and she sprinkles him with the water of the fountain. The water starts to turn him into a deer.

The two nymphs witness the wrath of the goddess and the transformation of Atteone into deer.
